James Gerald Pomeroy, 74, of Monett passed away Sunday April 15, 2012 at his home. He was born August 14, 1937 in Grant County, New Mexico the son of the late John and Grace (Woods) Pomeroy and Doris Pomeroy. He was united in marriage on February 12, 1971 to Patricia Ann Jansen she survives.

He taught school in Monett for 29 years before retiring, and was a member of rodeo clubs, Monett RC Flyers and Monett Seniors Golf Group.

James is survived by his wife Patricia; one daughter: Dawn Talbert, husband Kevin, Fairview, MO; one brothers: Donald Pomeroy, wife Beverly, Prescott Valley, AZ; one sister: Beverly Salveson, husband Sam, Silver City, NM; one brother-in-law-: Victor Jansen, wife Olga; three grandchildren: Kyle, Dylan, and Kelsey Talbert, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both his parents: John and Grace and step-mother: Doris.

Visitation will be held Thursday April 19, 2012 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, MO. Graveside services will be held Friday April 20, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, MO with Rev. Terry Laselle officiating.

Memorial donations for James may be made to the Hospice Compassus of Monett.
